God’s Purpose for Seasons

Thursday Night Prayer Service 4-23-20

We are living in exciting days! I hope that yeveryone is ready for this new season! In fact we are in unprecedented days, days that the prophets of old saw and spoke about and longed to experience in their day.

I Thessalonians 5:1, "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you."

Daniel knew that when “the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom”, the enemy, “shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law” (Daniel 7:25).

Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs, and all their kinsmen under their command.1 Chronicles 12:23, 32 Failure to discern the times and seasons prohibits us from fully cooperating with God and fulfilling our destiny.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: ”Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the face of the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you” Isaiah 60:1,2

Genesis 8:22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”

Daniel 2:21 He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding;

We are to R_____________ what season we are in.

But you must realize that in the last days the times will be full of danger.

2 Timothy 3:1Be wise in the way you act with those who are not believers. Use your time in the best way you can. Colossians 4:2-5  Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;  meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.

We are to let go of our P______ season.

Beloved, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, Philippians 3:13 Time to Birth

Amos 3:7 “Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets”…

We are to prepare for our N_____ season.

Isaiah 55:10-11  “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

‘God says: In the last days
I will give (pour out) my Spirit freely I will (pour out) to all kinds of people. Acts 2:17a
Smith wiglesworth We live in a day and and age in which discernment is a sorely needed gift in the body of Christ– and praise God, it's a gift which is freely given by the Holy Spirit! [1 Corinthians 12:10]

We are to stay H_________ in all seasons.

So be humble under God’s powerful hand. Then he will lift you up when the right time comes. 1 Peter 5:6

Keep your roots deep in him and have your lives built on him. Be strong in the faith, just as you were taught, and always be thankful. Colossians 2:7

"Whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant." (Matt. 20:26) We all know what the character of a faithful servant or slave implies: devotion to the master's interests, thoughtful study and care to please him, delight in his prosperity and honor and happiness. There have been servants on earth in whom these qualities have been seen, and for these men and women the name of "servant" has never been anything but a glory. Men sometimes speak as if humility and meekness would rob us of what is noble and bold and manlike. Oh, that we would believe that to be humble is the nobility of the Kingdom of heaven - that this is the royal spirit that the King of heaven Himself displayed! That to humble oneself and to become the servant of all is God-like! This is the path to the gladness and the glory of Christ's presence ever in us, His power ever resting on us.
